Dr. Yasmin Seyal is a finance executive with over 25 years of global experience with start-ups, early stage, private and publicly held companies. Her experience spans numerous industry sectors that include health, technology, aerospace and defense, fine chemicals, real estate, automotive, insurance, fashion and retail. 

 

Yasmin has most recently served as chief financial officer with a number of start-ups working closely with founders and entrepreneurs to realize their vision and help build successful companies. Prior to working with start-ups Yasmin served as vice president, global treasurer for VSP Global, an international California-based group of leading companies providing products and services to eye care professionals, employees and members. Before that Yasmin was senior vice president and chief financial officer for GenCorp, Inc., a publicly traded company, involved in numerous global businesses and operations. At GenCorp, Yasmin’s responsibilities encompassed many aspects including strategy, mergers and acquisitions, accessing capital markets, overseeing the company’s pension assets and investments while leading the finance function and working closely with senior management, outside advisors and the board of directors. Prior to joining GenCorp Yasmin was with PricewaterhouseCoopers where she advised clients on tax related issues in the manufacturing, real estate, technology and services industries. 

 

Yasmin earned her MA in accounting from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland; her MS in tax from Golden Gate University in California; and her designation as a Chartered Director, from the Directors College, a joint venture of McMaster University and the Conference Board of Canada. 

Yasmin was recently awarded an Honorary Degree of Doctor Honoris Causa, University of Aberdeen, Scotland. Yasmin is a CPA.

 

Over her career Yasmin has been involved with a number of professional organizations that include: the Tax Executives Institute; Financial Executives Institute; Aerospace Industries Association; Manufacturers Alliance and others. Yasmin has also been a non-profit board member.
