Kate Bright is Johara Global’s In-House Security Advisor. She has worked in and with private security for 20 years. Kate trained in Close Protection and worked as a Chief of Staff to international wealthy families in London from 2000 to 2015. She then set up the award-winning, security-focused recruitment and concierge firm UMBRA International Group. She was shortlisted as Entrepreneurial Woman of the Year in the Citywealth awards in 2019, and was asked to give a Tedx talk in 2018 on the topic of ‘Invisible Security’.
Kate is a member of the Worshipful Company of Security Professionals and a Trustee of their Charitable Trust, as well as a member of the Security Institute and RUSI. She is a Companion of the Institute of Leadership & Management and sits on the British Army Gender Advisory Council, under the guidance of the Army’s Gender Champion, Commander Field Army Lieutenant General Ivan Jones CB. She is a Freeman of the City of London. Kate was appointed as a non-executive director of the Security Industry Authority (the Security Industry regulator) in February 2020.
Kate is a passionate champion of the benefits of Diversity and Inclusion not only for her industry but also advocates for more women to sit on Boards, and regularly speaks at events and on webinars to encourage young women and girls to think about their future at the table of change.
Kate has joined Johara Global as our exclusive in-house personal security advisor, supporting our members with a uniquely tailored service suited perfectly to ensuring peace of mind in a secure lifestyle.
Kate will provide Johara Global members with a Secure Lifestyle Audit – a one hour private discussion under NDA - to go over any areas of concern for their own or their family’s safety. This can encompass any area of life which does not allow for peace of mind including homes/property, digital safety, children and next generation safety, travel, health and wellbeing risks and more.
This appointment will take place virtually via Zoom by mutual agreement at a suitable time.
