Creative Director and a Co-Founder of CORNELIA International
Ellen Sackoff is Creative Director and a Co-Founder of CORNELIA, a Spa, Wellness and Skincare Brand. For the past 15 years, Ms. Sackoff has taken the lead in creating the brand vision that distinguishes Cornelia within the spa and hospitality industries. She has been recognized for her success in redefining the day spa experience as a destination urban retreat. The ‘Day Resort’ integrates spa treatments, beauty services, eclectic luxury retail, and innovative wellness programming with thoughtfully crafted touchpoints that punctuate and extend the guests’ experiences. Operationally, Ellen oversees development of spa treatment protocols, guest service standards, new program offerings, the retail vision, staff training, the treatment menu, and contributes to the marketing and PR initiatives of the brand. As Manager of Cornelia International, the company that creates and sells the Cornelia skin care and home ambiance collection, Ellen is responsible for the development, positioning, and marketing of new product introductions.
Prior to founding Cornelia, Ellen was a founding partner and principal of The Discovery Group, Inc., a market research, and consulting firm, specializing in the youth market. Discovery assisted in bringing products for children and families to market for such major organizations including Johnson & Johnson; L’Oréal, General Mills, Discovery Communications; Children’s Television Workshop, The New York Botanical Garden, the USDA; and, UNICEF.
Ellen holds graduate degrees in Developmental Psychology from Columbia University and The Graduate Center of the City University of New York. She is a recipient of the National Research Service Award, Public Health Service Training Grant from the Department of Health and Human Services for her work in Aesthetic Development. Ellen volunteers as an Assistant Teacher with Dances for a Variable Population, an inter--generational dance company and educational organization, promoting strong and creative movement among adults of all ages and abilities, with a special focus on seniors.
